Sydney FC has confirmed the departure of six players from their Isuzu-UTE A-League squad following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. Joel King, Patrick Wood, Ahmet Arslan, and Corey Hollman will leave the club after their contracts expire. Both Wood, 23, and Hollman, 22, have been with Sydney FC since the Academy's inception in 2016, making significant contributions with 119 and 71 appearances respectively. Wood expressed his gratitude, stating, 'Sydney FC has been my home since joining the Academy in 2016, and I’ll always be thankful for the opportunities the club has given me.' Hollman echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the pride of wearing the Sky Blue jersey. Joel King departs for the second time after returning from a stint at Danish club Odense BK in 2023, while Arslan, who joined in February, is set to return to Germany. Additionally, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Piero Quispe will return to their parent clubs in Scotland and Mexico after their loan agreements conclude. Sydney FC Men’s Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo thanked the departing players for their commitment, stating, 'They have all contributed positively to the group both on and off the field.' The club is currently in discussions with other players regarding the upcoming 2026-27 season and will make further announcements soon.
